33" tall tires for drw???

Is there a 33" tall tire that will fit a dual rear wheel truck without spacers? basically I'm looking for a tall narrow e rated tire. If no such thing what will work? I'm converting a 2500 4x4 srw to a drw flatbed and would like to run a 33" mud terrain type tire. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

17" tires are harder to find in the sizes you're looking fo that will correctly fit a stock (6") dually rim. You can find 265-315 size 17 inch rubber all day long but the wheels are tougher. I have found 6 1/2 inch width dually wheels that will accommodate 265 or 285 sized tires. Check your local tire speciality shop and seek their guidance.

... . BUT for the money you're going to spend, why not go an extra step (read "dig a little deeper into the pocket) and use 19. 5 inch medium duty wheels and tires. Whole new game with the upgrade. Lots of tire diversity and some pretty solid offerings on wheels. Rickson Wheel Manufacturing will give you some ideas. I think Alcoa makes a 19. 5 8-bolt wheel as well. Or you could go with 10-bolt big wheels with a 8-10 adapter.

I'm running LT235/85R17E Goodyear on stock wheels and am very satisfied. They also make the Duratrack which is a more aggressive tread that would have worked better for my application. Have them on my wife's Jeep and daughter's Cherokee. Work well on or off road.

The standard 235/85R16 and 235/80R17 are 32". Every now and then I see a 255/85R16 which would be 33" and fit the factory rims. You're looking for a 235/85R17 or 255/80R17 but I think you're SOL.

Thanks for the thoughts. I thought about going with the 19. 5s but I've already got the 17x6 wheels so I'm going with them. Will probally just settle for a 235/85 but I'm still looking for options.

I went through this a couple months ago. I thought about the 19. 5s and the cost was way to much. I ended up buying a set of BFG 255/80/17 E tires, in the new style KM2 mud terrain. I was unable to find any other tire in this size. The mud tires were more than I wanted, but they are very quiet and you would not even know they were a mud tire if you did not look. I am running them on my stock rims. There is pleanty of space between the rears. I ordered them from Discount Tire. Local tire dealers had a hard time trying to get them and were about $100 a tire more money. I am happy with them so far.

The Cooper 255/80-17 fit the bill, cheaper than the big, got for @215. E rating.
