I have 315/75/16 on my '83 Crew. They are equivalent to a 35/12. 50

Running a 5. 5" Superlift and the front tires rub a little on the back of the inner fender panel when turning and hitting a bump at the same time. I did not purchase the wheels but I think they are 8" or 9" wide. If you go with a 10" wide wheel the tire will be a little shorter but may stick out past the fender a little more.

My previous '83 PowerRam was running a 4" Skyjacker suspension and a 2" body lift and also had a rub on the inner fender with 35/12. 50 on 8" wheels. I just cut the inner fender panels on that truck. :D

So I better look at a 6" skyjacker instead of the 4" huh! I want to run 16x8 Alcoas. I am also trying to decide what locker/limited I want I was thinking a detroit up front and a no slip power trac in the back. will their be a problem with the detroit in the front with manual hubs? I know it would be imposible to steer if I have it engaged on the road but it should be fine off road???

Kinda depends what you plan to actually do with the truck. Are you going to be doing some severe off-roading where you will be heavily articulating the suspension?? Or just dirt roads, snow (in AZ? I know it happens)

Keep in mind that with the larger suspension lifts you will also have to address other issues that the kits normaly don't include. Longer drivelines, driveline angles causing vibration, steering correction. The current trend around here is to go with smaller lifts and lots of fender cutting, but that isn't for everyone.

Friend of mine has detroit lockers front and rear and hasn't had any problems with steering, but it is almost exclusively used off road and he has a custom cross over steering system. He is also running 4" Skyjacker, small body lift and fender trimming.

well... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... I really just plan on getting where ever I feel I need to go :-laf I shouldn't be doing rock climbing and the such mostly goat trail type. and I have no problem with a little pruning Oo. :D

I have 35/12. 5x16. 5s on mine. It has 2 or 3 inch front springs and 6 inch skyjackers in the rear with no block. If you don't mind trimming, use the 4 inch and cut what needs it.

You could probably fit the 35's with a 4" lift and some rubbing. Then either trim as needed or go with body lift. I know that a lot of people don't like body lifts but I never had a problem with mine.

Found a pic of my old '83 with 4" Skyjacker and home made body lift that was about 1 & 3/4". You can kind of make out where the fenders were trimmed at the bottom of the back side and just below the front side marker lights.

Those are 35x12. 50x15 BFG Mud Terrains on some cheap chrome steel 15x8 wheels. I've seen the Toyo's on the KORE truck and they looked really nice.

As far as the locker goes, unless your going to be lifting a tire off the ground or hitting some soft sand regularly I'm not sure that you need it. It would be cool to have anyway though. I'm thinking of getting a locker for mine but I drive in snow/ice so I'd want a selectable like the ARB. I'm just not sure that I can justify the cost with the amount of use I'll get out of it.

well most of what I'm going to be doing is trying to get close to my hunting areas in Flagstaff, and northern AZ and Colorado. not to mention you never now when its going to rain here and the last thing I want is to get stuck out there you know?maybe only a limited slip in the front and electric locker in the rear???? but I'll worry about that when I get rims and rubber.

I know I have no pics in my readers rigs, haven't taken the time to figure out the picture sizing deal. Go to the 1st gen forum and see if the "pics from the dyno day" thread is still there. There is a pic of my truck in it. It's the white one with aluminum wheels. As far as wheel width, I have 10"s on mine and am putting 8"s on it this week. Oh yeah, almost forgot. If you want to run 33s, you don't even need to lift it.

EDIT: I just checked, it isn't there anymore. Just do a search in the 1st gen forum for "dyno day pics" with my username and it'll come right up.

That looks nice!!!!!!!! little to tall for me when/if I go from 33's to 35's mine is gonna get the crap cut out of it!!!! I thought of another question... ... ..... if I run 35's I should get about 12" clearence on the front diff. so if I ran 39" I would have 16" ground clearance correct??????And if so who in there right mind would want a HUMMER???A little 190hp torqueless IFS Detroit POS?????? auto no less????

Also: Ihavent done readers rides at all no pics period so you've got me beat.

If you don't like how tall mine is, just put like 1" springs on the front and stick with 33s. Then, if you go to 35s you can just cut. In all actuality, my truck is only leveled and on 35"s. These things are pretty big to begin with. I measured my diff clearance and they both have about 9. 5" to the pumpkin and about 14. 5" to the bottom of the tubes.

Travis. .

and actually I was thinking of the 2" with the 33's and cutting for 35's, also part of the reason you truck looks so tall could be the angle of the pic it looks like it slopes up. I've seen a lot of trucks in real life with lifts to clear 35's that didn't look near that tall. And dont get me wrong I would buy your truck in heartbeat!!!!!!

Chainsaw

about how far away from Pheonix AZ are you?

My truck has somekind of 3" lift springs up front and Skyjacker 6" in rear with no blocks. It is a smidge nose high since i put the rear springs in and the truck was parked on an incline in that pic so it looks really high. Like I said before, if you only want 33"s, they will probably fit stock height. We have a truck here at work that has sagged out stock springs and it has 33x12. 5s on 16. 5x10" wheels with no rub.
