What are you guys running that will last under our trucks. The BFG KO2's only lasted 27k miles. They were rotated every 5k. Ran 65 psi on the front and 40 on the rear unloaded. On the wear bars right now and have to make decision soon. Nittos, Cooper, Hankook, Toyo, Bridgestone, Patriot? Experience is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if cooper ATP's are in a 35", but i'd bet they last the longest. Those would get my first choice.
next would be the nittos and toyo's.
not many of the 35" will last as they are not designed as a highway tire.

I have 22k on my BFG AT KO2's and they are nowhere near done. I always get 40 to 45k on these tires.

I got an actual 104,000 miles on my first set of factory Michelins, and they were never even rotated. Very even wear on all tires, and they were just at the wear bars at that mileage. I purchased a new set of the exact tires thinking I would get similar mileage out of them. I now have 36,000 miles on them, and they are almost at the wear bars. I have put more "in town" miles on this set, but they will not come anywhere close to my first set. I believe that my first set got abnormally high mileage, but I would have expected more out of this set. It would appear that mileage can vary greatly between identical tires. My point being, maybe your first set wore a little faster than normal, and you might have better luck on your next set.

Nope, will not get better mileage with the same tires as was on these trucks OE. The tire compounds have changed so much due to cost and EPA regs they aren't the same. Forget the 17" tires unless you go with 37's, they aren't rated high enough and that is what will kill them sooner than anything. The 18" and 20" wheels have much better offerings of tires that are better suited to a heavy truck. 17" tires have been regulated to passenger car status and quality.

I would not get the Hankooks, personally. I had a set of their 37x12.50's MTs which didn't even make it to 30k miles. They looked fine and did OK in the mud but just didn't wear well. They were a D load tire so maybe that was to blame? I ran 3 sets of Toyo MTs (37×13.50's) before that and averaged about 50k miles on those with rotations every 5k miles. I know you are looking for 35's but can't imagine there would be a significant difference in terms of mileage between the 35 and 37's.

My neighbor's F-350 burns up every brand AT.
Falkens lasted 22K. Discount prorated them and supplied Nitto Terra Grappler G2's. Burnt them up in a short time.
Now he's got BFG KO2's in a 35" size. This is nearly all city stop and go.

Switch to a 1/2 sized tire and wheel like a 19.5 or 22.5 and run a real highway tire designed for the weight. They come in 35". M608Z Toyo comes to mind.

Rims are the problem, not a lot of selection and back spacing is not correct.
The poster asked for durability. Not only will you pick up MPG with the switch but it's a much more heavy duty and highway friendly tire with traction on par with an MT. As you loose section width backspacing needs lessen. You also get fantastic load capacity with the switch which brings you a great safety margin if you tow any kinds of loads. I like function over form.

We've had really good luck with the Bridgestone Duller Revo's 315-70-17" my friend got almost 80k miles out of the last set. Only reason I didn't get them for my 2013 is they don't offer a 295 with tire for my 18" wheels. I just installed a set of Cooper Discoer AT3's size 295-70-18" .A bit noisier than the last set of Cooper's I had. We'll see how they hold up. Oh and for anyone that was wondering the 295's fit where the spare goes., It's a snug fit but they fit so now I have a full set including the spare.
