One thing to keep in mind is the 3500 pickup will have a softer spring set up due to its application(dailey driver) where as the C&C was designed specificaly as a work truck. That's also why there is no pickup body for it.

Well - I'm outta my depth here - (what's new ? ) But why wouldn't those super springs from ... MrTruck.com ... work for you Harvey ? ... ... I can't get that link to paste for some reason..... the Super Springs link is an ad at the top of that page.

Good question. I didn't know about them before your post. I reviewed the website and the "super springs" you mentioned. I haven't used them and don't know how well they work but I'll keep them in mind if my cab and chassis springs are soft. Thanks for the suggestion. Has anyone used them?

Harvey,

I think there are some rave reviews about them there on Mr Truck

... ... ( needless to say there would be - since he sells em )... ...

He (Mr Truck) says they make airbags obsolete ! (for overload anyway).

I emailed him and asked if I'd need them on a 4500 - and if they'd fit.

He said Yes they'd fit and one would absolutely need them for a big load.

... ... . well whadda I know - but if I get sagging springs - guess I'll try em.

Any spring you add that are only 1/2 the length of your full pack will give you a rough ride. Be sure to add a leaf that is full length. Help support your very top spring, keep the tip from bowing down.

Harvey: Hellwig Products Company makes an auxiliary air ride kit for a Dodge 3500 cab and chassis. Their part number is 6400.

Harvey, if you're interested, there's a picture of the Hellwig model 6400 kit on page 86 of the June 2007 Trailer Life Magazine. Looks pretty healthy.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have the 2007 3500 cab & chassis. I used the Firestone Air Bags part # 2071. . Heres the web site.

DriveRite - Air Suspensions and I did not have to do any mods. You have to drill 8 holes, but its no big deal they give you a template. Its really easy to install and so far with 55,000 miles on them I havent had any troubles. My truck weighs 9500 empty and I carry 10,000# every week.

KWAYNE:

Thanks for that info. I saved your link to DriveRite in case I decide I need air bags on my cab and chassis.

RVTRKN, Is your CC the 84" from cab to axle? What does the B&W bed go for? I'm looking to get a 3500 CC and I sure like those B&W beds; my second choice would be the CM brand in the ER model.
