I dont have ALL the details, but the options is as follows:



Delete bed, lights, spare tire, bumper



Add MODIFIED 4x2 frame

Add fuel filler tube kit

Add frame mounted stop&turn lamps

Add modified wiring harness

Add incomplete vehicle document





Production begins April 15th - The cose will generate a $400 credit (seems low) on the MSRP

And like the Mega Cab, too restricted. A Box-Off truck only has a 56-inch CA (cab-to-axle) chassis size wih the wide-track rear axle. Most heavy duty bodies are designed for 60 and 84 CA and the narrow-track rear axle - all available on traditional cab/chassis trucks.



A friend of mine hotshots cattle in Texas. After beating the crap out of a 2004 Silverado 3500 Dmax/Allison with a Western Hauler bed, she was looking for something more durable. She really wanted to get a Cummins Ram, but went with the 05 Ford F550 Crew Stroke/TorqShift for the chassis beef and cab space.



Hopefully the Dodge dealers can get the point across that the Ram line needs to be complete, just as they convinced Dodge/DC to replace the old B-van with the Sprinter insread of dropping out of the full-size van market altogether. High fuel prices may have some effect on full-size truck sales, but the business types whose trucks "earn a paycheck" aren't as concerned with fuel prices as they are with getting the right truck for the job... the fuel costs can be written into the prices they charge.

$400 credit? I dont even want to think about what DC would charge if I had to replace my rear bumper, bed and lights... . much less have it painted to match. You would be better off buying the bed and selling it imo.

DHayden, Magic words are modified frame, available APril 15th, because the existing frames in box off apps have cracked in some apps.
