What tire pressures are you running in your DRW Ram? I have a Lance 1130 and loaded it must be pushing 3600 - 3800 lbs. No tire pressure data in the owners manual that I can find, only the tire pressure data tag on the door post. All this says is 80 lbs. Does not allow for anything except max pressure. I am thinking 70 lbs front and 65 lbs. rear. Getting ready to start a long road trip. My truck is 2015 CC, 8", 14K GVWR with 3.73s.

Thanks in advance,
John

Is your truck 4x4??? If so, based on a 4x4 truck configuration, it should state on the sticker 80 psi front---65 psi rears.....for maximum carrying capacity. It is on the sticker...perhaps you just overlooked it.

I run 77psi in the fronts and 75psi in the rears when I'm fully loaded. Loaded I have 5130# on the front and 10450# on the rear as well as 8470# on trailer axles behind the truck.

I haul a Lance 1121 which is the same length and has a similar floor plan as your 1130, but mine has a dinette slide out which makes the basic camper about 500-lbs. heavier. Loaded for travel, I weighed my truck and camper. The combination weighs a total of 12,200 lbs. with 7,780-lbs. on the rear axle and 4,420-lbs. on the front axle. I run with 80-psi in all six Michelin tires. I have observed no abnormal tread wear, and at that pressure, it takes the "squirm" out of the tires which helps limit sway from cross winds and from 18 wheelers passing in the opposite direction on two lane roads during windy conditions.

When you return from your trip, please let me know how well your new truck hauled your Lance 1130. I'd be very interested to know how well it performed.

I run 65 all the way around, have for years on my 04.5. I just got back from TX on Sunday with a 19500lbs trailer and load. It was hot. When the tung waight go over 5k I will increase the rear pressure.

I run 70 in the front and 65 in the rear and tow about 14K. More only makes the ride harder when she is not loaded. I am running Toyo HTs on the front and Toyo ATs on the rear.

John,

Weigh (or estimate the weight) on each axle then go to the Ram Body Builder website HERE (scroll down to last page) to look up the proper tire inflation pressure for the given load. Make sure to use the correct pressures for "Light Truck-Type Tires -- Single Use" on the front axle of the truck versus "Light Truck-Type Tires -- Dual Use" on the rear axle.

Best regards,

John L.

I run 80 on all six, old truck and new. Tires (Michelin XPS M/S 2's) wear perfectly and towing is easy.

Give them 40K and report back. I will wager the centers on the rear will be thinner.

These had 40K running 45 solo rear 60 loaded with 5K pin. Centers were "slightly" thinner.

Second set actually (on my old rig) and they always measured nearly even with that little tire gauge America's tire uses.
Wow you had a 5k pin load? That's no joke. Mine is generally between 3K and 4K and I figured mine was heavy.
But now that I look at your sig I see the Mobile Suites and that explains a lot. Those beauties are heavy coaches.
Congratz on the 2015 and 2016 setup. Nice!~

Edit: I was running 265/70-17's. I wonder if that has something to do with my even wear patterns @80 psi?

6k on the pin??!! Good grief! What does that thing weigh overall? Using the typical 20% rule of thumb for 5er/ gooseneck that puts it at 30,000lbs

Actually 25% is more the norm for a full time RVer!

Total combined weight was 32,540# Front axle 5,460, rear 9,580 and the RV axles 17,500. Had 100G water on board. Truck really handled the load VERY WELL!!!

I'm still surprised that trailer weighs in at 23,500!:--) 17,500 on tandem single tires, it must be running 19.5" rims? I've seen some dang nice trailers (Tetons, etc.) but they are either triple axle or tandem duals.

On a different note, I've had my Dually grossing about 33k pulling my triple axel gooseneck hauling an M35A3 deuce and a half, 10 super single tires, and 4 HEMMITT rims. As you know, it really is amazing how well these rigs handle it.

My tires are at 80 psi under load with the camper loaded. When I am unloaded I drop the rears to 45 psi on the outer and 43 psi on the inner dual.
