2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 3500 DRW rear axle difference

Does DC use the same rear axle in a 2001 3500 DRW as a 2005 3500 DRW? Reason I ask is I am thinking of trading my 2001 for a 2005 and was hoping my Mag-Hytec rear cover would fit the 2005 rear axle. Tony

Nope, the 01 has a Dana80, the 05 has an American Axle 11. 5 unit. Different covers, sorry.
