3500 Rear Differential-Limited Slip?

Looking at the on-line build yesterday and there is no option for "Limited Slip".

I'm coming from the 2500 where you had to order it if you wanted it.

Is there no Limited slip option for the 3500?

Per the owners manual yes you would add a friction modifier.

The button on the dash disables traction control. The LSD is 100% mechanical and can’t be disabled.

Good to know. Thanks Two four ounce bottles. 1900 miles no issues so far. I’m really liking that push button on the dash 4 wheel drive shifting. Very smooth. I’m in and out of 4 w all the time. Main roads dry here side streets a mess

Well, it would be called "broken" and yes, yes you can disable it. Real pain to get it enabled again though.

I think we have discussed this before. Most high quality gear oil will have the friction modifier included. I would make sure before I added extra.

Got me thinking about the Front Diff. Is that limited slip also? If not how can I make it so?

Front is open, aftermarket is your only option for a LSD.

In the front I would only run a helical gear LSD or a selectable locker.

Detroit TruTrac gets my vote and would get my money if I ever added that to the front… I’ve been talking about it for years., but now that I’m looking for a part number it appears they don’t make a front one for the 13+ trucks or the 12.0” rear axle.

I believe you can use the 12- truetrac in the 13+ by swapping to earlier R&P set. Not worth effort unless regearing anyway.

I know you have to do that for 07-13, but it doesn’t say anything for 13+. I wonder if it has anything to do with the CAD?

Could be as CAD requires counter rotation of spider gears an truetrac will try to drive the ring gear.
