I have been looking for a set of valve stem extensions that will fit the dual rear wheels on the 3500. I have a 2001 and I can find the extensions but the retainers or stabilizers which would fit the seven (7) hand hole cut out width seems to be a bit more difficult.

Just wondering if anyone out there has installed any which would make checking tire air pressure a bit easier. Do lots of towing and would like to put the Geno's tire (color coded) valve stem caps on which would be easily viewed with stem extensions that extended just past the wheel cover.

Appreciate help in this regards if anyone has done this.

Anything you get, make sure to have the wheels balanced with them on (tubes, brackets, ect. ). You would be suprised how much it makes a difference.

Also make sure you have metal valve stems. The rubber ones don't take to kindly to them. Particularly, if you have to go off-road at all. Can tear them.

I have a set of valve stem extensions on my truck that I bought at camping world. They have been on my truck for abput three years now and no trouble with them.

I have a 2001 3500 4x4 Quad cab slt plus. auto, 4. 10

Thanks for the response on Camping World. I believe that I over looked that one. How do the stabilizers work on maintaining the extensions from moving about in the outer wheel? I have the chrome plated wheel simulators with a seven (7) hand slot cutout pattern. From looking at your signature line, looks like you have the same wheel pattern.

I'll check it out as I just got their master catalog for this year. Thanks to the other responders as I'm sure the balance of the wheel can be effected with the additional weight. I'll pay close attention to that one. I also would prefer the stainless braided ones instead of must rubber. Good suggestion.

valve extenders

Hi Ramtuf1, I have the stainless braided ones on my dually and they work well. Only have the inner wheels extended as the outer ones can be reached without a problem. The retainers would not install without modifying the plastic chrome simulators with a dremmel tool. Just have to alighn the wheels with the valve stems in the right position at rotation time. Good luck, Dave

I thought that they might need a bit of an alteration the way the hand holes were shaped internally. After looking in the catalog, you probably used the shorter ones as the long ones would extend too far out.

Thanks for the information and happy truckin'
