Does someone have this info, I can't find it?

What is the tow rating for the 3500 QC short bed HO 6 speed with the 3. 73 rear axle. Saw in another post where the same truck with a 4. 10 is rated to tow 15,700.

Thanks

Steve:

Does your info show what the axle ratings will be on the 3500 DRW? I got to see a Hemi-powered 2500 the other day, but it shows 5200 front and 6000 rear (which isn't even as good as the 7500 rating of the old 2500's), so I'm very curious to know what the DRW ones will be rated at.

Thanks!

Rob

According to the press release:

"Dodge Ram 3500 rear axles have a GAWR of 9,350 pounds. "

and:

[... the front axle ... ] "is rated at 5,200 lbs GAWR".

Looks like all 4x4 2500/3500's share a common front axle.

It also says the 4. 10 ratio ups the legal towing capacity by 2,000 lbs.

9300 lbs??? WOW! That's 750 lbs higher than the new GM trucks, which I already thought was pretty good at 8550.

Awesome! Okay, it looks like one of these new ones is in my future, that's what I needed to hear.

I'll just hold out til '04 so the aftermarket can catch up. :)

Yeah, it's outstanding. I find it funny that my new SRW short box 3500's rear axle will have a 1,350 lb higher capacity than my monster "biggest 2nd gen ram model ever" dually chassis cab.

Frame's probably stronger on the SRW shorty 3rd gen too. . C'mon DC! Build my truck! Oo.

Tongue Weights?

Anyone know what the difference in maximum tongue weight is between the 3500 SRW and the 2500?

Thanks,

JD

It's the same hitch so the tongue weight rating would be the same I'm sure. It's a Class IV so it's most likely 500 lbs weight carrying, 1000 lbs weight distributing.
