3500 SRW Rear Diff Assy Cross Reference?

Greetings; As a result of accident [got rear ended] I need a replacement Rear Diff Housing. The national "bone yard books" only show this part for 2004-2005! Dealer says not manuf any longer. Used ones only seem available for the 2500 model.

What other years would actually fit? We don't know what minor changes/weldments would warrant a P/N change, & still would be OK to use?!?

Any 11.5" axle, with the correct gears, should fit from 03-09, and probably 10-12 as well. 2500/3500 use the same axle, as long as its a 11.5".

The newer, larger AAM axle (11 3/4" pinion?) covers will fit too. I have the oem finned aluminum part from a 6.7 HO on my truck.
Someone was selling them for something like $125 several a years ago.

I think the OP was/is looking for a complete axle, not just the cover.
