I forgot to look the other day at the local dealer but has Dodge stopped installing rear sway bars, I don't even see it listed as an option? I don't see them called out in any of the literature. It seems like when I ordered the '98 it was part of the trailer tow group or 'Aux. rear suspension' option.

The way the springs and frame are set up it was deemed NOT needed on 3rd generations. I think it is available aftermarket but very few posts of any one using one. The design change made the 3gs a lot more stable then 2nd gens.

personally, I don't think they did much for sway on these trucks. When I first brought my truck home, I was shock at how much play there was in the suspension. I even bottomed out a couple time in dips in the road.

I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar and it made a world of difference. I would definitely recommend one. Especially if you'll be towing.

I had to remove mine because it was in the way of my lift. The lift tightened things up even more though and then with ladder bars installed, my truck handles like a sport car.
