360 for 318

What if any will be the issues to deal with in swapping a 360 into the wife`s Grand Cherokee? Assuming I reuse the electronics & just switch the long block,can the management systems handle the difference? Maybe a chip? Any opinions out there? Wife says not to screw up her rig!!!! TIA,Don.

Ahhh back in high school.....

I cant speak for the newer engines, but way back, when I did engine swaps after school, the 318 was an internally balanced engine, while the 360 was externally balanced.

Make sure you get the 360 torque converter with the engine and it shouldnt be an issue.

PS the 360 heads were different (and superior) to the 318's.

A camshaft swap on the 5. 2 (318) would yeild about the same gain for less work and money. There are Mopar Performance cams for the Magnum (10 bolt valve cover) small blocks that really wake up the 5. 2. The engine is an air pump, you can either swap to a larger pump or make the one you have breathe better.
