my spring showed up today so i installed that and didnt mess with getting the fittings for the regulator.

wow...

how can a little spring, that attaches your foot to the pump guts, change how the whole truck feels?????

it even seems quieter!

crazy...

The spring will give you more RPM, and allow you to reach that higher RPM faster than the stock spring will. In other words, it make the engine more responsive.

I put a 366 spring in my truck recently, I hit around 3500 rpm with no sign of the pump defueling. Previously all I could hit was 3100 rpm.

my tach is still inoperable at this point,(it was never connected after the engine swap. ) I get my rpm based off of calculating everything else, gear ratio, tire size ect. someday I hope to get around to making the one in my dash work. :)

My truck originaly came with a 24valve

for some reason i have yet to find a gearing chart that is 100% accurate

closest one i found is off by 5 mph at 60

don

it runs to 3k with the 366 spring?

if you havent already, back out your high idle screw. you should have a lot more rpms left still. I was also able to get 100 or so rpm by adjusting/modifying my throttle linkage a bit.

I have to back out of mine to avoid floating valves around 3400. That is plenty for me. My 91 would pull to about 31-3200 with a stock spring.
