Is anyone out there in "P7100/12 valve-land" running 37" diameter tires (or Bigger) w/ 4. 10 ratios thru a NVG4500HD?

If so... . How is your performance & fuel Mileage?

I'm torn between Dana axles (D60 / D80) w/ the 4. 10 ratio or Dana 60 / 14 Bolt w/ 4. 56 Ratio w/ 37" diameter tires for my P7100/NVG Cummins powered project.

My gut tells me that the 4. 10 are the correct compromise for performance & high mileage vs the 4. 56's.

My 3. 54 equipped First Gen turns it's 35" BFG A/T's just fine in most conditions.

Any opinions on this topic... ... ... ... ... ... .

40" tires, 3.54 auto

Not sure if this helps, but even my 160 hp (stock) pump will pull my truck at 70-75 mph in O/D - even with my steep rear gears and my bigger tires...

I'd say you've nothing to worry about.

36" Denman Coyote's w/ 3. 54's & NV4500. Performance good. Fuel mileage good too. I start out in low as opposed to 1st to be easy on the clutch. The engine has plenty of low end to get em rollin. I usally cant' go to 5th gear untill about 50-55 MPH.

Opted for 4.10's...

KEENO,

I am in 24 valve land here, but here's my experience with the 4. 10's and 36" Coyotes: I'm always looking for 7th gear!

The overdrive ratio is close (0. 73 for NV5600 and 0. 75 for NV4500), so it should be comparable to what you are looking at. I love the truck the way it is, but if I had it to do over I think I would order 3. 54's and add more power instead. :D

Performance with the EZ is good and I get around 17. 5 MPG driving it like a 17 year old kid. Good luck with your project whatever you decide.
