I would like to try some 370's in my truck (95' 3500 with manual transmission and 270hp plate). I have my own Bosch pressure tester,so I am trying to find the part number for just the tips. Anybody out there got it?

Believe it or not... tips for the injectors cost as much if not more than the complete injector. The complete unit is what I would recommend.

Not quite, but the cost difference is not significant enough IMHO to not buy the complete injector.

Hence why I had stated that they cost almost as much(tips) and you are right... . the difference between tips and the injector are small.

Sorry, I thought you said tips cost as much, if not more than the complete injectors? This may possibly be true for some but not 370's.



FWIW - The complete injector will set you back about $100 more than just the tips. IMO it is worth the extra $100 to get a totally new injector and not have to disassemble your old sticks. That way you have a complete set for cores if you ever need them or you could sell them as cores.
 
Is there a reason you are going to pull the 370's that I should know about before I get a set? I heard that they smoke ALLOT and produce higher egt's,but I'm also going to install water injection to keep the heat down.

Cooker I could not agree with you more... $ 100 is not chump change but it will give a new shiny set of injectors without the calibration hassel... LOL

Yes, the 370s are smoky, but not to bad, without a set of 191 DV ahead of them. LOL The smoke is controllable with your right foot. I am getting some bigger injectors (Stage 4s), that is why the 370s are coming out. :D The spray pattern on the 370s is a bit off for our pistons, so that a small part of it as well. That is why the 370s are a bit more smokey, than they would be if we had the same pistons as the marine engines do.



I'm not to worried about smoke, though. :D
 
Has anyone tried putting in marine pistons? I'm getting ready to pull my head to fix a seeping gasket. I plan on doing a rering and bearing job job for the heck of it while I'm in there. Mabe its a good time for some pistons?

No need to change pistons. Wouldn't be cost effective, unless you are already planning to rebuild the engine. Use the correct washers when the 370s are installed. Or, just go with a different brand of injector that is already setup with the correct spray pattern.

"Correct" washers? I know of 2 diff thickness's,Do I use the thin or thick ones for 370's? or is it something else?

I think there are actually 3 "standard" thicknesses. You want to use the thinnest. They measure . 020
 
Not all of the install kits come with 3 different ones. Mine didn't. Only the 2 thicker ones. Should've gotten them but didn't know about them 'til later.
