Off Roading 37's with 4" lift?

I've been thinking about stepping up to 37s. I've done a little looking and measuring and I think I might be able to make it work if I grind down the pinch weld seam at the back of the front fender and cut a little of the plastic at the front. The rear tires don't look like they'll be a problem at all.



I know grinding down the pinch weld may not be a great idea but I'd only have to grind down a few inches of it and also I was thinking I could brace that back up with a piece of sheet metal welded over it flat.



Anybody who has tried fitting 37s, I'd appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks.

I trimmed a little both front and rear; look @ gallery. Tried to grind them down but found the sawsall worked perfectly.

I think I would fold the seam over rather than cut it... ..... The biggest obstacle will be from the offset of your wheel. The stock wheel will fit much better.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I guess folding the pinch weld over is probably a better idea.



My wheels (17 x 10 Welds) have a 4. 5" offset. I wish it were easier to find wheels with closer to 6". Seems like everyone so far has these on stock wheels. I guess I could go back to those. Looks like it's time to do some more measuring.

37's

I run 37-12. 50-17 on my 03 2500 with a 5" spring lift on the front the only rubbing is a little spot on the lower control arm at full L/R steering no problems any where else even at full articulation stock chrome wheels

The H2 hummer wheels have a nice offset they keepo the tires tucked in nicely.

i am running the pro comp extreme tire/wheel combo 37x13. 5x20 with 5 1/2in pro comp lift and it still rubs the fender when coming into a parking lot with minor articulation.

Those Centerline wheels may be just the ticket. Pro-Comp's forged wheels all seem to have 4. 5" backspacing just like my Weld's.



I really like the eight-balls and with 6" backspacing they sound perfect. Anybody want to buy some nice Weld Cheyenne's?

I have the Skyjacker 5" with 37's on stock chrome wheels. No rubbing on the fenders whatsoever, but it is close. I think if I had more than 1/2" more backspacing, I would have some issues though.
