box off 284 rwhp 668 tq

tow mode= 372/760

perf=399/855

insane=449/869

also have dd2s and pusherpump and dd jammer trbo ats manifld. 5 inch stack

the rig dynoed250hp 462 tq brnd new 2 days old box stock. the 75 hp injectors show 34 hp gain but 206 tq gain. dont add up. i realize the auto hurts on a dyno but it was dtt'ed.

the dyno shows the pup doing a good increase. no calcultr but looks like almost a 170hp gain on insane vs off and the graph shows a lot wider powerband with the pup

overall,,,,,,,im purty tickled w/ the pup. and the fact that the perf mode which i tow with gives right at 400 rwhp/855 rwtq and has cool egt with a trlr in tow.

yep,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this pup rocks :D Oo.

Yeah, I saw that about the DD2's, whats up wit dat??

Its good to see the pup making 170 on an HO - thats impressive, how was the smoke show? and what boost did you hit??

:)

i make 36psi boost on the street. watchin othr guages didnt get chance to monitor boost on the dyno unfortunatly. had a pipe on my stack necked down to a restricive rubber hose less than 4inch i. d. [prolly lost 50 hp from that]takin smoke outside so didnt see how much but sure makes a good show on the street on insane mode at low boost :D

yep,,,,,,,,,with just the 2s,,,,,,,,,,cant figger it out. poor hp increase but excellent tq. 34 hp shldnt = 206 tq ??? :( shldnt complain as the tq gain is good for the dd2s :) and even w/ the dd2s alone the rig runs like a raped ape :D . way bttr than stock

and yep,,,,,,,,,,,nearly 170hp gain from the pup was more than i expected on an ho wid an auto

With the box off how are you boost fooling? Could the low HP numbers be from defueling? High torque would make sense at lower boost levels and then defueling at higher boost numbers would account for the lower HP gains with just the injectors. Just a thought...

I have run the TST box on 7 and 8 combos, runs pretty good with just an airaid intake. Doesn't compare to Bullydogs programming on the bottom end. Stock 04. 5=turbo lag from hell, 04. 5 w/TST on 7's or so=improvement, but still a pain at stop lights, 04. 5 w/TST on 5's or so and Predator 85hp stage 2 fueling box=better bottom end, but Bully Dog on insane with 85hp Predator and TST off in four wheel drive=insane, no turbo lag (compared to stock), touch and go on the pedal, 1/4 pedal=like 3/4 before with TST. I put the TST on 3/3 once and gave it about half a pedal, RPM's shot up to 3400 (I know, few hundred past redline), screams pretty good. Not from a dead start, 20-30 ish, 80 comes up quick getting of the freeway. I haven't done any wide open runs at all, concerned about excessive boost pressures. Need my turbo to survive till I can spring for twins. If I had a choice of one box, I would probably take the Bully Dog over the TST. On higher settings my TST seems to have boost surging and other weird things. Not so on the Bully Dog, just the scream of redline. The Bully Dog Downloader does have the same problem though that I noticed with the very first Bully Dog box (torque dog 0/70/110 hp) I bought for my '03 555. It seem to continue to fuel for a second or so after you open it up alot, usually full throttle. It surges lightly and acts as though your still feeding it fuel. It was such a problem on my first torque dog that I had to trade it for a replacement. As far as the downloader is concerned, I only noticed it a couple of times, just a hint of it. Guess it's time to cut off the exhaust from the cat back, feed it out the side in front of the back tire. Seen a couple of PowerJokes set up that way, it was the only thing that looked good about a Ferd.

i ran the old pressre box in off position as a boost fooler on that run. was one of my thoughts maybe the boostfooler wasnt working w/ box off. dunnno. wish my scanner here worked so i cld post graph. it shows it drops off on that run at higher rpm so maybe that is what is happening but the box is suposed to do full boost fooling on off position

Wow,

what great numbers Muddy. I want one too... . With the T-rex and big tires, I can barely pull 3rd gear from down low while in deep sand. How much help is the BDDL from low rpm's?

Greg

good at low rpm and extends way into hi rpm range. ya can really feel it pullin good down where ya need it

wld like to dyno it on a 6spd as i had to strt my run at hi enuff speed in o. d. so it wldnt shift down. a 6spd wld show much bttr tq numbrs on the dyno

ya shld try this d l greg

Has anyone tried the BDDL on a 325/600??

I really like what I have been reading about the BD Downloader.

I returned my DR Performance Stage II. It definitely provided low end power, but got scared of rail pressure after reading posts.

Am trying to decide on TST or BDDL.

JVople,

I think that the Power Pup is a better "Bang for your buck" than the TST and when combined w/ the Outlook is is more feature rich than the TST. ( i am running the insane program w/ the Outlook @ 50% and it is very tame to drive in the rain. two clickes of the Outlook and forget about traction as it is a thing of the past ) Three excellent programs, foolproof to install, and easier on the turbo/temps.

I havn't throne any codes nor do i have any flat spots.

I thinks i likes this downloader :-laf

JVolpe,

I put one on my truck the night before last. I really haven't had a chance to play with it much, just driving to the store and work. I set it on the tow mode, but Wes recommended performance mode. Tow mode give me what I expected from the unit. I am going to put the performance program in tonight. These are some observations on tow mode.

When you get on it at a low rpm, you can smoke out the folks in the right lane.

A hard launch from 2nd gear gives you scratch, then traction, then some more scratch. I am really impressed, but I have never had a vehicle with this kind of power.

3rd gear launchs come on quicker. I haven't tried a hard launch.

So far this box is awsome. :D

I just want to know. How safe is this for a bone stock(except for amsoil filter in stock box) 03 w/48RE. I have an edge box on the shelf as i didn't have gauges so I took it off when I got my new trailer. Thought about selling and just staying stock, but now the downloader sounds interesting. I did not like the truck on level 3 with the EZ with stock tires. It was ok with 315's, but way too aggressive, surge, on x-way unloaded... I am concerned with reliablity and trans issues. I am pulling a 40ft G'neck enclosed featherlite trailer. I estimate about 8000 loaded

lawdog,

In the tow setting the egt's are lower than stock.

In the performance setting the egt's are about the same as stock.

In the insane setting,... . you need intake, turbo, transmission, and exhaust upgrades.

If I were you I wouldn't go past the tow setting. But even on that, you will be pleased, and I think it would be worth it.

Oo.
