I was watching the NBC world news this evening, when I saw a 3rd gen Dodge Ram painted up in camo with some nice shiny "Dodge Heavy Duty" badging on the tail gate! :D I guess the military is going back to the big D!

Anybody else spot this?

I think they would do well with some NEW Power Wagons... ...

Military used to have some old Dodge gasser 80's model trucks before they got replaced with the Chevy diesels.

I wouldnt put it past some General to get one for himself out there ;)

dodge in iraq

I am in Iraq right now when we left Kuait we were escorted by a dodge 1500 with a couple of Iraqi national guard soldiers. On the base where I am at now we have a 2nd gen that is used by the Air Force to move cargo around ( you've seen the ones that have been cut down to a smaller wheel base) they also use a shortened ferd. There are quite a few 6 liter psds here as well as some ferd excursions that are used by private contractors for escort vehicles. I have some pretty good pics but not sure how to post.

Ps if someone pms me i'll post

All the General's trucks I saw were Suburbans with the bulletproof glass and electro-jamming stuff all over it to mess up remote IEDs and the such. All we could do was watch them drive past as we rode along in our vehicles that didn't have doors, but we did have a canvas top and sandbags on the floors. Guess that's what happens when your near the bottom of the foodchain.

I've been here in Iraq for quite awhile now and I've seen 3rd gens used the the Iraqi Police, Iraqi National Guard, and of course by some of the contractors over here. I haven't seen any used by our military except for the airfield (Air Force) short wheelbase trucks (2nd Gens).

The only "Camo'd" up 3rd Gen that I have seen was ING. The IP have a few blue and white ones while the contractors had colors all over the board. I once saw one that was flat black (completely flat black all over) that didn't look to bad (driven by contractors).
