did a 3gsk and 10 plate. bucks when i pull, read that I need stiffer throttle springs, did that, still bucks. so how stiff a spring do i need? twice as much as factory? bushing is worn at pivit on pump, looks like that may be normal
i have this problem too, especially when hauling 2000lbs or more... I've resorted to slower shifting and double clutching maybe i'll try tightening or loosening the spring too... ? ! ?
Check your transmission mount. I had the same issue. I crawled under the truck and pushed up on the T-case/back of the transmission and found the Mount seperated. I replaced it and have had no problems.
The reason is: When you have the additional torque on the driveline the driveshaft will start to torque the transmission up away from the mount. When it does this the transmission/T-case will jump up and down causing the bucking.
the throttle on my 97 w/ the 4k GSK was uber touchy, so I just got some cheap double return springs at AutoZone from the "HELP" section for $2. was great after that.
The other thought I had: Could it be spring wrap? Is it more at low speeds? If it is that could be the issue. If it is, I'd look into a set of traction bars.

Stupid question, but my 96' has the same problem when I am towing heavy. I pull a 15k boat and always tend to "buck" when I'm at light throttle pressure. Question is where does this spring go to correct the problem?
