i did the 3gsk today,it was easy i did it from the side. without calipers,i conted the clicks. the rpms were a little high so i tigtened it half a turn, then they were even higher so i lossened it 1 and half turns now its perfect. it drives nice no problems, then i took out my tst#5 plate and ground my stock plate flat and put it back in half inch from the front, now over 3000 rpms it pops in and out. now what?other than that its perfect lots of speed and power?anyone think what it could be?thanks. #@$%!

i dont know how to explain it,it just sounds like it could be maybe the valves are floating. maybe the fuel pump is not pumping enough fuel. it justs cuts in and out. but it deffinetly has a hell of a lot more rpms and power. i cant rember if it did it before i changed the plate. after i did the gsk,but i didnt push it as hard. thanks

Try adjusting the spring covers [ wrong term ] , I read a lot of posts , that after putting in the gov. springs , that there needs to be some fine tuning .

either a overflow valve or a weak lift pump. This was told to me by a service manager for a large truck repair place that had and loves 12 valve Cummins.

I cleaned my overflow valve out. It wasn't hard at all to do. I have also ordered a new FASS pump to install close to the fuel tank. I had a few pops on a hard rap.
