Well decided to install 3k gov springs this weekend. . . . I should have gone somewhere to have fun! The install went okay, got the old springs and shims out and new in without loosing parts, and with a pair of needle nose pliers I got the nuts tightened to . 060 just as the stock ones read on the claliper. Got it all buttoned up and she idled good at 750 rpms. Thought I had it in the bag until the test drive, when shifting from 3rd to 4th engine just took off and revved to 3000! Same thing when I shifted form 4th to 5th:--) Back to the house, got back under the hood and clicked the nuts back 2 and another test drive. Same thing!?! Back to the house and under the hood to click back another 1. This time idle was lowwwww at -600 rpm, but on this test drive, rpms only hung there while I shifted (2000 rpm) Back to the house and under the hood, I tried to adjust low idle screw, but she wouldn't let me do it. It would just take off, wanting to rev again when I turned the bolt counterclockwise . So, thanks for reading the wah wah story and hope one of you guys can enlighten me! Would appreciate any thoughts!

Ok now that you have the springs in. Take the AFC housing off and the plate out. Now back the nut off until it is not touching the spring. Take the nut down one click at a time until it touches the spring. Now 2 more clicks more now roll it over to the other side and do the same. This way they are set even. Right now you have them out of wack and you need to start over. You may need 3 or 4 clicks but NO MORE then that.

ata. . . . . sounds good. I'll go back to "square one" and start over with more attention to getting them even. It was hard to get a consistent reading with the vernier calipers and I might have taken the best of 6 readings as good. I'll be under the hood after 1st cup of coffee in the morning
Thanks!

S. O. B. !!!!!!!! ata. . . . Thought I would update you on my adjustment. I loosened the nuts and started to go to the spring and do 2 clicks as you had mentioned, but after 2 clicks there was still 3/16 " or less to the top of bolt. Odd... . . . so I decided to pull all the springs and new seat and this time 2 seats came out!!!! Not aware that the stock seat has 2 pieces, I had puled only one of the stock and thought that was it. Even sticking the magnet way in to pick up any shims, I still missed the second stock seat on both sides the first time!!! DUH! So all is right with the world and my truck. Set up the TST springs and adjusted to 2 clicks after touching the spring and BINGO! Idles at 800 rpms and runs smooooth.
Again, thanks I would hav spent way more time figuring this out if not for your advice!
