I see by reading through the forum that many of the TDR members have replaced their governor springs with 3K Piers springs.

What performance boost does this give? My truck is real strong 1500-2000 rpm but seems to lose steam about 2200-2300. Off idle resonse is a little sluggish too... ... . would the addition of these springs help this???

Thanks

I don't know if it works as good on the autos but mine has better response at low and mid range - top end stayed the same(power wise) except for higher rpm and the rpm is terrific. You have to have enough fuel to get the full benefit. Yours is crapping out really soon. There was a thread about the same problem a few weeks ago. Check your cat, wastegate, AFC(slide it forward and loosen the spring), fuel filter and pressure etc. Check for leaking intercooler connectors and leaks in the manifold pressure tubing to the AFC and wastegate actuator. I'd sure like to hear from the auto guys with the 3k kit - I have a friend with a 97 auto. TIA!!Craig

I haven't done this yet,but from what I've read here it will increase the responsiveness and powerband from idle up through 3400 rpm, even on a stock truck.

Your RPM sounds low for de-fueling, it should start about 2500 and finish at 2750 or so, the 3k springs will wake it up in a new way cause it will pull all the way to 3000. Probably the best $125. 00 you could spend!
