Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Low idle speed

So, I'm installing a 3k GSK this weekend. Following the directions, it says to remove the 2 inner most springs. So I take those out, I leave the larger outer one, but there's an extra spring in there. The first two springs I took out match the diameter of the springs that came in the kit, but then there's an extra spring inside. What gives? I'm pretty sure they're the stock springs since the engine won't rev past about 2200. So do I put the smaller spring back in, or should I leave it out?

Leave it out. My '98 12 valve also had 4 springs per side. With just the original outer spring and the 2 from the kit, it worked fine. Make sure you get all the shims out. It's a good idea to check the gov. lever too. After my install, I found that the lever was passing under the plate. After I adjusted it, WOW!

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, while I had the plate out to do the springs I was definitely going to move the plate. :)
