What Bolts & Studs advised for Exhaust Manifold Replacement

FAKE Bosch injectors

At 180k miles the clutch started slipping so I had a new clutch put in. New clutch chattered bad (Starting off in 1st or Reverse on a grade, the entire truck would bounce as I slipped the clutch to maneuver into a tight spot, as soon as I could fully release the clutch, the chatter stopped) They installed a second clutch and I had the same problem. I didn't have the heart to have them install a third one. Finally, after another 50k miles, I had had enough so I had a different shop install a new one and the problem persists. This is frustrating, maybe it isn't the clutch? There is no other obvious problem. Seems odd that the original clutch did not do this but 3 replacements have.

John,

Chatter is a very difficult problem to diagnosis.

What type facings are on the disc you are using? A fiberglass based facing (on BOTH sides) is the stock approach. Are you running any type of button disc or twin with buttons?

Clutch has to be capable of smooth engagement, facings too. Control system has to TELL clutch to play nice, driveline system has to deliver the torque SMOOTHLY and engine and trans mounts can't be for visual effects only.

Anything at all that controls or creates the chatter can be very helpful in directing the comments and we cannot leave out the skill and attention to detail of the installation on that day for your truck.

What's the story on your flywheel?

Gary
