How many people have purchased a new 6. 7 and regret selling there 5. 9 and y? I need more cab real estate and have been looking at a low milage mega cab with the 6. 7. Does anyone knoe if the cap on my quad cab short bed will fit the mega cab bed?

I own both... including a 08 5500... we're surprised that the 5500 gets better fuel economy and performs better than the F550 we replaced... We've had no problems but we run all our trucks like we stole it... . Lots of miles and lots of loads...

I am glad I traded in my 04 for my 07. 5 6. 7ltr. It has been a great truck, few hickups in the beginning. Even better now that alot of stuff has fell off.

Thanks for the replies 2rowdy what kind of milage are getting? are the 3. 73 the standard ratio when you order the truck?

Stock was about 14 mpgs IIRC, I can see 17 now fully deleted and the smarty. Just got to keep a lite foot. I believe the 3. 73 are standard though I didn't order my truck. I did buy it brand new. March 07 built date, I bought in May.

i just made a trip to austin, i stayed a month, then returned to western arid-zona.

i wrote the miles on each fuel receipt. i figured the miles per gallon from each ticket and then averaged the mileage, i averaged 19. 4 for the month. mostly highway with about 20% city.

the truck engine is stock, i did try the unplugging of the egr connector for about a third of the trip. the only thing that happened, is the overhead lier, lied more and the truck seemed to run smoother. that said, running at 79 mph was something i hadn't done since before the double nickel speed laws of the 80's. felt good the let the engine stretch, and really put some miles down. without worrying about johnny law.

2x4, auto, 3. 73.

After 7200 miles, I prefer my 6. 7 to the 5. 9L. Same fuel mileage with more power. I have not had any issues with the truck yet at all.

I am glad to see more enjoying the 6. 7. I went from a 2005 5. 9 to a 2007 6. 7 and back to a 2006 5. 9. Much better mileage, all the power I need with the smarty, and no more trips to the dealer for flashes, turbos, etc.

I sold an '06 Ram dually w/48RE and Jacobs exhaust brake to buy an '08 C&C. I've zero problems and am very well satisfied with my truck. It is an improvement in several ways over the '06.

I can't imagine why I would ever want to return to the inferior 48RE truck.

Dont ever buy a 6. 7 especially any one built in 07 with a 6 speed!!!! All the recalls and out of date flashes, no fuel filters and and and and, lol just search for my posts, that year is a lemon, no doubt about it. The 2009 with auto or 2010 prob has all of the bugs and recalls and reflashes out of them, but then the water pump and fuel filter is still not available down here in south texas at a dealer or at a auto parts store!!!

Sanitarium Room With A View Please.........

That statement is as bright as a burned out light bulb!!!!!!!!!! They're all six speeds!!!!!!!!! #ad

As a matter of fact, most all of your statements are as bright as a burned out light bulb; your closed mindset and overall general blanket statements should get you straight to a sanitarium..... no waiting. :-laf

:-laf get over it... ... .....

my truck is the '08' auto and i've had 0 flashes, no turbo issues.
i did find that my oregun dealer was over filling the engine 1 qt. and i needed to drive a bit differently when unloaded on very crooked slow roads.
like others in texas, my ac evap froze occasionally if it was damp out and over 95'f. just switch ac to recirc and the problem is solved.
my truck has more power than i ever expect to need.
mileage could be better, but with all of the government junk required, what can we expect.
