Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 3rd Gen airbox on 2nd Gen

I'm pretty sure I have seen this on the forum but I can't find it. Can a 3rd gen airbox be put on a 2nd gen. And in doing so would that put the battery to close to the turbo, as in heat wise.

i think what you were seeing was we are putting the 6. 7 boxes on the 5. 9 cr's the 6. 7 has 2x the filter area. mopar now makes a filter that fits in the stock box. but of course they did not come out with it untill we converted all of them to the 6. 7
