Well I sold my second gen Dodge and it had its problems to fix. Like steering and lift pump. Now i'm looking at a 2005 3rd Gen truck. What problems should I look for?

Number 3 and 6 fuel injector lines cracking at the injector. Improved lines and a new line damper are cheap and are available from Mopar.

If it's a 4x4 take it down the freeway and check for vibration . A lot of problems there with U joints as mentioned above

Only problem I've had that were not self induced is front end problems UPPER BALL JOINTS,axles ujoints and broken steering box. the dealer replaced the ball joints 3 times before the 3/36 then went a w/ moog "they were the only ones availble @the time carli's were not out yet but i would go w/ them now not the moog". Run fuel filters 5 micron or bette. High pressure fuel systems DONT like dirty fuel thats what ruins injectors.

My understanding is the '05s came with a plastic, end tanked intercooler... NO good. Alot were replaced under warranty.

My 03' 4X4 w/NV5600 has definately been a very good truck! Only had one problem in 90,000 miles, but was taken care of during the warranty period. This truck has been an awsome truck!
