Looks like the switch to AAM axles, ******* sized ujoints and yokes has limited options from aftermarket custom driveshaft fabricators. Has anybody had a custom rear shaft made from all new parts? What choices are out there? Is the NP 271 spline different for the Dodge application? Can a pinion yoke for a 14 bolt GM rear be used on our axles?

Anyone remove the damper on the slip yoke? One aftermarket driveshaft maker said they always take them off since they tend to cause more issues than they solve.

Dodge Drive Shafts

They may only be for automatics. It looks like the six speed driveshafts get ujoints with bigger caps, 1-3/8 compared to 1-3/16.

The driveline shop I used put Spicer joints in mine... they are the same cap diameter, but the cross is longer (on the spicer)... they had to grind the retaining rings a little thinner, but I have over 75k on them without a problem...

I’ve replaced the joints with Precision 330A twice now. Always had the 70-75 vibs since new and the free wheeling hubs did not change it. Now the vibs are worse so I’m thinking I’ve messed up a yoke or something doing the joints.

Instead of throwing money at what might be a bad shaft or diff yoke or slip yoke, I just want to start over with a stronger than stock shaft. I thought I read somewhere that a Dmax shaft is beefier and can be modified to fit the Dodge?

Give me a call I can gave them made for you. I also went true 2 stock drivesharfts which gave me vibrations at speed. Had a custom drive shaft made for me and no more vibration. The factory shafts are not all that great!
