My steerring dampening shock is shot and needs replacement. Since I have the original track bar on the truck and 135,000 miles, I'm thinking that I might as well replace the trackbar at the same time.

I've read all of the praise about Solid Steel's 3rd gen trackbar bracket and I am thinking about purchasing it (I already have the DSS). My question is, does the 3rd gen trackbar take the same steering dampener that the 2001 trackbar used?

Thanks

Yes, the steering dampener does not attach to the trackbar. I have the DSS and Darin's 3rd gen bar bracket, and stock steering dampener. Got my bar via a friend that owns a body stop and gets a good discount from the dealers. Ordered my bracket from Rip I think, which I believe comes from Darin, not Marv. I have not heard much about that soap opera lately. Darin has an adjustable bar available on his wed site www.solidsteel.biz. If you are staying at stock height then the DC bar is fine. SNOKING
