I have a 2003 2500 and I need to replace my front u-joints. I am wondering which ones to go with. Someone mentioned precision 374's. Does this sound right or should I go with something else? I need to get them in before an upcoming trip, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've been searching for front axle u-joints for awhile. Both sides of mine need replacing. There is thePrecision 464 from, Rock Auto for $34. 79 a piece.

Then there is the axle u-joint from Quad 4x4 for $119 a set. What gives?

I don't have the time or patience to get a part to find out its the wrong one.

Precision 374 is appearantly the NAPA part for my truck. How do I find out what to run, 374, 464, etc. ? Just want to make sure to get the best, most durable part I can. I only want to do this once if possible!

Daniel,

The 464 is what you need (thats what I have on mine as we speak) they are a perfect fit.

Expect to pay extra when buying from quad 4x4.

His are probably 464's (notice he does not include a part number in his ad!) :-laf

Are the 464,s for the auto(48re) or manual transmission?I have the auto and just had the rear u-joints replaced with precisions 295,s. I like to have the fronts changed out but cannot find the correc part numbers. Thanks, coobie :)

Coobie,

The 464 is the part number for the U joint at each end (left and right) of the AAM 9. 25 axle. They are for manual and auto since both have the same axle in 4x4.

Thanks for the part number, thats the info I needed. coobie :)

Regarding the 464's - is there any danger of the grease fitting contacting the axle yoke when the wheel is turned to full lock? My grease fitting is toward the axle side (as opposed to the stub shaft side).
