new wheels

Mudstud, many posts are in archives however I,ll reply with my limited info . I too am interested in other wheels for my 93. The later mode wheels have a different setback, studsize, and stud spacing all things changed between the second and 3rd gens they went from sae to metric thats the info I get . So I will be looking at american racing or some mfg that makes the after mkt application. I also under stand that pre super dodo ford wheels will fit and are very strong. The 2nd gen wheels fit sorta, but have different backspacing so it looks it was customised in puerto rico. I just hope I got half of this right and good luck on your search. k. e.

3rdGen lug nuts are SAE- I accidentally got a set for a SRW when I needed them for a DRW. I have also seen 3rdGen wheels on many 2ndGen trucks locally. That would lead me to believe that they are the same hub/ lug size. Though in this area, one never knows. FORD went to metric with their new body style in 98.

When my youngest son picked up his '05 we tried the wheels/tires on his brothers '90 which is 2wd. Everything looked fine but the '05 wheels were binding at the front rotors, so it was a no go for us... ... .

I've seen 3rd Gen wheels on a '93, looked good but they were sorta "sucked in" due to the deep backspacing. All HD Rams went to a higher offset suspension starting with the 2000 model. There's been no change to the lug spacing or sizes in many many years, there's a mid '60s HD Ram running around here with wheels off a early 2nd Gen.
