Anyone put 3rd generation wheels on there 2nd generation? I have a 97 and would eventually like to change out the wheels. Will they fit nad does anyone have any pictures? Thanks. Anyother suggestions? Pete

I have a set of 02 chevy wheels... . polished aluminum with Cummins center caps that I bought for them. They look good with the cummins label on them. You can't tell that they were made for chevys.

Got any pictures of them on the truck? Pete

No... sorry, but I live by Brownsville/Uniontown,Pa & just noticed that you are in Pittsburgh. I can get some pics posted of the wheels if my brother stops by... he has a digital camera. He knows how to do all that stuff.

I have them on my 2nd gen. simply b/c I didn't feel like tuyrbing down my rear drums to put the alloys on. They look ok from the side, but the offset is way off. Looks dumb from behind the truck. Plus tires are more $ for them. I just got them cheap with a brand new set of tires on them. look at my readers rigs. I would be willing to trade them to somebody for their stock 16" alloys.

Here's mine. The only problem I've had with offset is that the inside weights on the front wheels get ground off in a full lock turn on the lower shock mount bolts. Seems I have heard of problems on 4WD models hitting tie-rod ends. I may be wrong. They look good to me. :)

Big Papa those look awesome!, and yes alot of people are going that way, i think those look the best on 2nd gen trucks, im looking for a set, hard to come by out west here, cant even locate on craigslist.

I was looking to get a set of those 3 gen. wheels. Maybe when need new tires, I'll just find a set with tires, so I'm set. I am worried about fitting right, though. I do not want any issues , as it's a work truck too, so it gets loaded heavy, hauls a lot.
Keep the info coming guys.

When they were first put on

After 6 months and a run through Glamis with the DTX group

I used CAT high gloss engine enamel to paint them. Do a good prep job and some self etching primer and then top coat. Most people think I had them power coated.
