Has anyone installed a Spinner II on a 3rd gen truck? I have done some measuring and figuring and its kinda looking like the valve cover for the mount.
Couple of positives of this
Couple of negatives
It looks like there is about 2" between the top of the metal cover to the plastic. I havn't taken off the cover to verify yet. From the top of the plastic cover to the lip just above the harness is another 3" I don't have the spinner in front of me to see how tall it is but would it fit in this location?
I have read the extensive write up that Mundgyver did with his 2nd gen and am wondering if any fellow 3rd genners have done this?
Couple of positives of this
- Don't need to do a return line
- The heat from the engine should keep all the oil moving inside the spinner
- Simple plumbing
Couple of negatives
- Contamination from the valve cover
- Clearance between the top of the valve cover to the bottom of the hood
- Dealer reaction when they see something sticking out the plastic valve cover
- Possible cutting of the heat blanket protecting the hood and possible damage from heat if cover is cut
