Just replaced my 3rd lift pump in the mosquitos. I have had enough of those Carter trash "pumps". It would be worth a weeks wage to ram one of those junk up a Carter company keester. I am ready to get a different style pump. The truck is stock 2004.5 model. I don't want high volume / hi horsepower capability, just a quality pump that will last for a while! I had one of the Carter junkers die at 10k ! Any one have a good luck story or recommendation on an aftermarket pump? Mine is on the filter housing but am not adverse to a frame mount.

The cansiter mount LP is very prone to failure due to lack of proper lubrication while running, that's exactly why Dodge upgraded to the MUCH more reliable in-tank LP. Your choice is to convert to the in-tank pump set-up, quite a job, or to an aftermarket frame mount pump/filter set-up, which have their own issues (noise and failure), but are still much more reliable then the canisiter mount pump.

I would do the FASS from Genos, tank cannister from GDP, big line kit and 3 um filter between the OE housing and CP-3, and replumb the lines form the tank to OE hausing with larger lines. A bit expensive but it will be reliable and easier to work on.

Are people still having the 1/4 tank no fuel issue or has that been cured? I've read where the Liberty canister can be the way to go.

Only with a draw straw outside the cannister. GDP has the complete cannister with 1/2 lines that will make the FASS\AD last a whole lot longer and be less noisy. Just pull the old one and pop the new one in for best results.

my 03 just turned 399,000mi almost all of those miles have been with a fass 150,oem pump and filter gone a long time ago

I have the Air Dog and have had no issues. My in tank pump wasn't working so good so I replaced it. Having the filters where I can get at them is much easier. David

ALL electronic pumps will fail, some go years some go Days, that's why you should have 2 lift systems installed (back up) or plumb bypass, so when your electronic pump fails you just turn 2 Valves (To bypass the electronic pump) and start the truck with 1 shot of either and the CP3 GP will prime itself and you can drive until you wear out the GP, if you shut the truck off you may need to restart with either.

1 of the reason (just 1) why the canister mounted pump fail is heat, many owners run their tanks below 1/4, that fuel gets darn hot quickly in stop and go traffic, the R/T form pump and injectors is about 1L PM @1500RPMs in 20minutes you will have 130-150* in the tank add 90*+ and WOW to tank temps. keep the tank full when hot ambient temps or try and keep it 1/2 full most of the summer months.

Here some pictures... This 2013 has 3 lift pumps ,and 2 auxiliary bypass filtering systems, I take My lift and filtering extremely serious.
