We all know the Smarty folks "claim" to have an undetectable programmer. Has anyone ever proven this?
I'm sure the average dealership monkey can't and hasn't.
In a few months I'll be in Detroit. And I'll visit a friend of mine there that works on the Ram electrical side of things at the Jeep Truck tech center. He was telling me over IM that it's detectable if he can get a hold of the ECU.
I have never had any other programmer on my truck and a key-on over well over 5000. I have had edge ez, juice and TST boxes... . but these shouldn't matter.
I'm sure if the dealership shows in their records that I have "original software" and I show that I have the latest and greatest in the ECU, that's one method of detection. The question "How did this new software get there? I show you should have the version from 2004" is a question one can't get around.
But other then that obvious one... . I'm going to see if he can prove that it has been modified when returned to stock software
I'll keep ya folks posted.
