When I excel from the start or hammer down to pass and keep my foot to the pedal, (even a little off the line racing with the gasers. )

My truck shifts fine till 3rd gear. 3rd to 4th will not shift till 2500 to 2800 RPM's. You can tell it takes to long to shift. Trans was rebuilt to stock Dodge standards (not my fault) Has had shift points adjusted but this don't help. Truck has a tst #8 power plate and runs great other than this problem. What could be the problem???? Thanks to all!!!!

With a stock trans the only thing I can think of is the kick down cable. There should be a little motion left in the lever at WOT. Will it shift if you lift just a little? If so the kick down cable adjustment might do the trick.

Install a 6 speed!

Yeah, me too.

Seriously though, the kickdown cable affects the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.

The Throttle Position Sensor affects the 3-4 and TC lock up points. Double check the adjustment for the throttle linkage (the only way to "adjust" the TPS).

Even when set up right, it might still do this. Mine did until I replaced the torque converter. Give Dave Goerend a call, he might be able to give some help.
