So, here I go again..my 2016 ram 3500 dually continues to give me rear end problems..heavy oil helped for a while, but not long..123,000 miles and already one gear assy replacement, the rear end continues to rumble (badly) when taking off and making turns (really bad). I'm now wanting to rebuild with something that can hold up to heavy towing all the time..what's really weird about it is that my 2007.5 never gave me this kind of trouble..any help would be appreciated..the dealership is no help at all!!

Thank you for that!! I'ma be on the phone with them first thing in the morning..it looks like a straight bolt up to my current ring and pinion set..this may be a dumb *** question but do you think this will solve my problems with this thing??

It transfers power much better, The AAM good in most conditions but the Trutrac divides evenly , You do need to watch out for the washout.. The Trutrac will spin both wheels and if the trucks at slight angle ,it will fishtail... replace everything the R&P gears the Pinion bearing both side bearings...Now here's were the arguments going to start, I only TQ My Side Bearing Caps 180FT LBS the Spec is 207FT LBS, I even RE-TQ them on My 2013-14 when New, My 2003 Has over 150K Miles at that TQ.. with TrueTrac Also find out if you have the 11.8 Dif, if its a DWR its 11.8 I think that that the spec?

I thought it was the 4:10 11.5

Like TC said, I am pretty sure it is the 11.8 axle, used in the Max Tow 3500 DRW. It appears AAM did an upgrade to the 11.8 sometime in '16, so be sure what you have. They went from a 12 bolt ring gear to a 16 bolt.

Did you ever change your drive shaft to a one piece?

On my Ex companies 2014 2500 I drove for @30K miles, that Dodge had to buy back, the entire rear diff, housing, tube assembly and drive shafts had to be replaced at 14K miles. It turned out the Tubes were not true and caused the gears to mesh incorrectly. Maybe your issue could be the that, that the tubes are slightly off, causing incorrect alignment. The wear pattern, if it is out of alignment, should indicate alignment to be off, if it is. BTW, that 2014 was a complete lemon, so many times my service truck ended up in the shop, and I went without work/pay.

RVTRKN has a good idea. I'd go to an actual R&P shop that specializes in drivetrain to have them check for trueness. Either they did a terrible R&P setup or your housing isn't true.

If you are towing commercially (I'm just assuming this by your mileage) why don't you go with an open diff? Less parts??? Or does your truck already have an open diff? Nothing in your signature so I don't know what you have for a truck and options. That would help.
