$4.20 a gallon for soy-based B-100 in eastern Oregon

Is this good or bad? I see price quotes all over the map, depending on area - today's price locally for diesel is $3. 35 a gallon. If I was to buy the bio stuff, I must buy 2 55 gallon drums, and would plan to mix with regular diesel for a B10 - B20 ratio, just not sure this is a very good price on the bio stuff, not that I really have any alternative sources...

Another thread stated someone was buying B-100 for less than $2. 95 which their regular diesel price was over $3. 30 I believe.

I can get barrels filled for $2. 65 for B100.



Just purchased from a station B20 for $2. 89



Diesel here is $3. 49 or at least the day I filled up with B20...

Don't know about biodiesel but today regular diesel went from $3. 15 to $3. 65 for regular 2 percent biodiesel.

Up here is Seattle I just filled with B100 @ 3. 13 a gallon and I can get B20 @ 2. 65 all day at another place.



I switch between the two now depending on what way I drive home and when I need fuel.

Might have been me. I filled up last week with B100 soy based for $2. 82. I was told buy the guy that owns the pumps that it may drop as much as . 40 cents this week or next. #2 down the street at that time was $3. 23 or $3. 33 can't remember and B20 was $3. 03.



I have a sinking feeling that bio producers will see an increase in demand due to folks using it as fuel and will jack up the prices to make a profit, I hope not but it may happen.

To get the tax rebate you have to be a "qualified blender". Not sure what the qualifications are, but your average user does not qualify. I don't think that anybody can go get bio and mix it themselves and then go get the rebate. That would be too sweet of a deal.



Any fuel stop who charges more for bio at ths time, should be blacklisted. No more needs to be said about that. Blacklist the SOB's. Language filters prevent me from expressing my true feelings about the ^%#$%^ #$#3 6^ 'ers who price this stuff.

The local Texaco/Shell distributor who quoted me the $4. 20 per gallon price is known locally to be very, ummmm, profit oriented...



He would have to bring me my 2 drums of B100 from Portland on one of his regular trips, and I suspect a substantial delivery markup is taking place.



I wonder what freight would be from another source to my area - might be cheaper than what he seems to be charging.



If I can get the address/phone # of the refiner/distributor in Portland, I will give them a call to see what the cost is right from them - supposedly a station in Portland is currenly pumping Bio, but I don't know if it's B20 or B100...

Gary, I buy my B99 from a place in Phoenix OR, for 3. 1499 a gallon, pumped in the truck, or 2. 8499 for off road, in a can. The closest place to you that I know of is in Bend. Here is a link to the main distributor in Oregon: SeQuential BioFuels

Shell station in Taylorsville, MD (between Baltimore and Frederick, MD) has B100 for $3. 92 a gallon with #2 Diesel running $2. 89 a gallon. The B100 price seems a little high? There is an International Dealer up the road that sells B20 for the same price as #2 Diesel.

I get B100 for $2. 85 a gallon here in Phoenix AZ. Petroleum Diesel is around $3. 00. I just filled up with B100 last week. Not sure if I want to blend yet. As it get cooler here I'll have to.

Is there a way that we can put places that sell BioD on this site and so we can give them our business? I would buy it over the other stuff everyday if it was available locally. I realize that there are some issues with it but I'm willing to put up with it.

The thought of giving some farmers money instead of somebody overseas (not pointing fingers where) sounds like the "right" thing to do to me.
