4 BT swaps Who has done them and in what ?

Who has done what and is there any motor mounts and or jigs made to fab parts ? Wife wants a durango but i want to know all the options

I have a 4x2 and a 4x4 durango.

I wanted to do the 4x2 with a 4bt cummins. But, the front cross member has to be completely removed to fit the oil pan.

So, after some checking the 4x4 will be easier, but the pan still must be heavily modded. I think a 1500 would be an easier swap.

I seen a guy on 4 bt and its on You tube that has a 4bt powerd durango

so it will fit but yes oil pan modification



Also there is 6bt Dakota here on TDR



Im not opposed to do a stait axel swap if i can find out what it takes and what springs i dont want a big lift either , no bigger tires than 33 with only enough lift for clearence . I got a 3/4 ton chevy 4x4 or dodge half ton to rob for running gear if needed .



Does any one know what the industral and marine oil pans look like ?

I have seen a 4BT in a 2002? Dakota . It was a 4X4 stick with the stock drive train, but I don't know all the details. It looked nice and clean. I have seen them in an earlier style Dakota as well as a FJ 50/60? Land Cruiser and a Jeep CJ Shadrach

That is what I would LOVE! Either a Dakota, 1500 or Wrangler with a 4BT and a MANUAL transmission! SWEET!

I have one. A '92 1500 chevy truck. P-pump, twins and 5 speed. Using dodge motor mounts. They're a lil rougher than the mounts used in a bread truck.
