I just finished installing an MBRP 4" dual system (S6102409), but it looks like I won't be able to put my spare tire back in its intended location.
I have 33" between the tail pipes, but my BFG 295 75/16 tires are 33. 5" in diameter. The drivers' side pipe is about 1/8" from the spring, while the passenger side is about the same distance from the shock.
Has anyone installed MBRP's "Cool Duals" and managed to fit a slightly oversized spare between the pipes? I'm not overly concerned with the pipes melting the tire, but I'd prefer that they didn't rub against it, while also jammed against the spring and shock.
EDIT: I do still have my factory Michelin spare on its steel rim, so that might be a last resort option. I'd just prefer to be able to put one of my two spare BFG / aluminum wheel combos in that location.
