I made my own 5"exh. system ( 4" down pipe and 5"staight from the transmission bracket back) It has a muffler but the center of the muffler is almost big enough to stick your arm through. It sounds awsome in town, more like a big rig. But on the feeway under heavy load at 2200 rpm it gets obnoxious after a while. I pulled the entire interior out of my truck , went to my local roofing supply store bought some torch on roofing (it's about 1/8" thick). I cut it into 6"wide strips and heated them up with a tiger torch and layered them in the truck. I put two layers on the floor and three layers on the wall behind the seat and the rear quarters. On top of the torch on behind the seat I used contact cement to glue 3/4" dense matress foam (similar density to what you'd put under your sleeping bag). I didn't pay attention to your thread but if you have a manual transmission put some small cut pieces of insulation between the two rubber boots on your shifter.
With this combination, my truck with 5" exhaust is quieter than any stock truck with stock exhaust system. It'll take you an entire day to re and re your interior but its worth it . You'll have a very qiet truck. You'll need a tiger torch, 50' roll of torch on roofing(with no gravel,it must be smooth on both sides!)some contact cement, and preferably a helper. If you don't work fast with the roofing and let it cool down it won't stick properly. If you don't want to do all this work , at least sound proof behind your seat , this will make the single biggest improvement on sound dedening. Good luck , hope this helps.
