edge comp compatibility ques.

Where do you guys running stacks get your flex pipe at? Is this a normal exhaust shop item? On my air ride I am making, the exhaust pipe bend over the rear axle may be in the way and may need to temporarily plug that 4" piece of flex in for my bags. Then, when I get 4" exhaust I can leave the flex as part of the permanent system.

I don't have stacks but I do have a piece of 4" flex pipe on my exhaust and I got it at a big truck shop. Any big truck shop should have some flex available.

Would 4" flex pipe work for a downpipe?

Could you weld a flange to one end and a short section of straight to the other end?

Bob Weis

flex pipe doesn't take to welding very well... I wouldn't use it for a downpipe... these trucks have so much room, it's easy to build a downpipe. I built one for my HX40. there's lots of room. a 5" downpipe wouldn't be too tough to build. a 4" is cake.

NAPA sells it, although you may have to order it. Comes either in aluminum or stainless. I have used it for years with little problems.
