I need a muffler and exhaust from the downpipe back..... does anyone have any opinions/experience with a good exhaust system?

not the most$$$$, but middle of the road $$$

Whatever you buy!

Make sure you use the band clamps instead of the regular muffler clamps. Extra $ for clamps but if you ever have to remove/adjust the exhaust system it is very easy to do.

Gibson!

Not the guitar

I love the queiness of my 4" system.

When you hit the go peddle it's got a great sound!

It's fairly quiet below 2000 rpm.

From 2000 to 3000rpm it growls very meanly.

Hard to explain.

Works great with a perfect for me sound.

Rip at Source Automotive is the exhaust master!

I have had 3 different systems all growing with my needs.

Everything from the original muffler delete to the 4" Diamondeye and now the Rip's special duals.

The level of service is way above and beyond that of most any vendor I ahve experience with!

The pipe band is fine if you don't run an exhaust brake. No matter how tight you get it, it will leak if it is in front of the exhaust brake. (experience here)

Rip also does duel's. :D

Stan's Headers 4" system here. Amazing. I have a feeling that inside the cab now is quieter than the stock exhaust. I did not want any drone at any RPM and quiet interior, with a nice deep sound. Rip said I have to run two mufflers. I have one muffler and no resonator. Muffler is 40" long straight-through Donaldson. Sounds really good. I did notice a small MPG increase, almost a gallon, and it's all made here in the U. S. I hope you get what you hope for and not end up dissapointed with too loud of a system.

BowHunter, email me at -- email address removed --

I have a New MBRP system #6100 al w/5in tip that would fit your truck. I never istalled it, I went with a straight pipe kit.

Its for the 94-02 trucks, ck out their website. If your interested we can talk.

I have the magnaflow 4" and it sounds great. It has a 3. 5" downpipe then goes 4" the rest of the way. If you search around you can find it at a good price. I cheated and had my brother get one for me, he owns a performance shop. :D
