Is a BD Pressure-Loc any good?

Fass///Preporator

Those of you who went with a 4" exhaust with an exhaust brake, how much louder did it make your exhaust brake sound?

I have a pac brake on my 2000 and with the stock exhaust system it's pretty muffled.

Thanks,

Mike

Mine sounds like a low muffled grown in the cab, I never get to listen to it outside, but my kid said it sound ""cool"?

Okay, I was mainly worried that my neighbors wouldn't be happy with me when I turn on the brake at 6am to help warm up the truck.

I already have a BHAF on it, so it sounds like it won't be that much louder when I go for the 4" exhaust.

Thanks!

Mike

Hey Mike, what ever you do, don't put an exhaust turn down on your system. My dad has one and it made the exhaust note about twice as bad as the side exit. The sound from the exhaust bouncing off the driveway at idle is real bad.

If my truck is any indication, your neighbors may be more bothered by the stink then the noise. At an idle, you get a hissing sound which does not carry all that much but the stink is much worse than without the brake on. I don't know if it's the 370's or the #11 plate. Anyone else's ride stink bad with the brake on?

Bystanders will notice it but don't expect anything close to the sound of a jake brake, even a muffled one.

That's true they are'nt as loud as a jake but at a stop light the little ricers don't like the noise of it as it drowns out there rap crap music:D and alot of times will even shut there windows.

THat does it; I GOTTA get one, if just for that reason. Combine that with my already loud turbo (for this area, anyway), and I'd really tick off a bunch of punks.

Works also with the people on the phone too

Yeah, I figured I'd do it kind of like you have yours--just straight out the side.

It's funny that you guys mention the ricers rolling up their windows at the stoplights--I just had one do that the other day! I loved it! :D

Yeah, mine does. It's the 370's, the plate won't have any effect on idle. The colder it get the more it stinks (if you wanna call that stink :)). Most people notice more smoke/stink at idle with the 370's

I have a 4" with remote brake and with no muffler the hissss from the brake is loud but it muffles the exhaust. I'm not sure if my exhaust while idling is louder with the brake on or off.
