Guys,

Any of you have the Jardine/Pinnacle 4" mandrel bent system??? If so do you like it?? I have only installed Banks exhaust systems in the past and they are "bolt on" systems, no welding or mods. Can someone please advise??

thanks

Don

Big Don. I have a Jardine 4" system on my truck and I believe that it made the largest improvement of all the enhancements so far (see signature) I had mine installed at the factory in Dubious, Wy. and am very impressed with their work, no clamps all welded and only took a little over an hour. Definitely would recommend their system. :)

So has anyone installed one theirselves?? Just curious if it's something I can "bolt on" or if I need to cut and weld and monkey with this thing to get it to fit right.

thanks

Don

Big Don,

I am not the most mechanically inclined individual, but I did install the Jardine system myself. No cutting, no welding, just bolt on, you will love it.

I installed my Banks stainless 4" myself. The install was easy, But getting the old stuff off was a b*&^%. !!

If I do it again I'll start with the sawzall and not try to salvage the OEM.

love the sound

Ditto all of the above.

I installed it myself one evening in my garage. Good fit, they even included an extra clamp for the one I broke (I tend to gorilla tighten most nuts/bolts)!

Less than 2 hours.......

For the install that is. I was foolish enough to try and save the old system which is now in the trash. Don't bother just sawzall it off and go. Simple install but I would use the strap clamps myself. I ended up with the drone and had to put a resonator on. It was a pain getting the new system apart. Sawzall helped there too :D . The strap clamps won't indent the pipe and seal really well. If you had to you could get the system apart easily. The drone seems to be more prevelant on longer wheel base trucks. The longer section of pipe reaches a resonant frequency with the engine at around 1900 - 2200 RPM. The resonator did clear it right up.

Just my 2¢ worth,

Garrett

I just ordered one today. I talked to Jerry and he said there should be no drone and not to worry about it. I'm planing on using stainless band clamps instead of the traditional muffler clamps so it will be easy to remove the tube to install a resonator at a later time if needed.

I'll have to wait until next year to get the exhaust. Jerry said he'll ship it out next year so my truck's Christmas present will have to wait a while. . :-(

IMHO, this is best deal going.

Excellent system. You could do it in an hour or two, if you just cut the old system apart, and try not to salvage any of it.

The one I just installed had the newer flat u-bolt straps, instead of the standard u-bolt type. Much better install since they don't crimp the pipe.

Drone may or may not be an issue on your particular truck. I ran mine for months and decided to try a second muffler(resonator) to see if it made any difference on my short bed 4x4.

It does appear to have made a difference in daily driving, in that when I rev it over 2100, it doesn't sound near as loud in the truck with the windows up. .

If I have the windows down, you hear it where it should be, from the 5 inch tip.

For the price, hard system to beat.
