Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 4" exhaust

I will be doing the 4" exhaust upgrade soon and wondered if anyone had any problems with the two flange bolts and clamp

where the upper exhaust pipe and turbo elbow come together.

other than loosing some skin around the knuckles, is there anything else to pay particular attention to? TIA

I made the 4" upgrade this past weekend. Soaked the bolts with Aerokroil the day before and then again about an hour before I started the job. Got at them from underneath with 30" of extensions and a universal. It helps if you have someone to hold the socket (13mm) on the bolt heads from above. A little grunt and they came right out.

Same as Master said, get some extensions to do it. I tried without them and it's very tight. I finally had to borrow 3 extentions from the neighbor and it made it much easier. I did the job solo, so if you can find someone to bust knuckles with you, it'll be alot easier.

I did mine a while ago and all i used was alot of penatrating oil and put alittle umph on it and they came right out
