I just installed the 4" jardine exhuast system. Nice fit all the brackets worked fairly well etc.

One question is:

the pipe from the exhuast manifold is within 1/4 to 3/8 from the firewall and the fiberglass heat blanket is already fried from the 3" pipe. I tried to manipulate the angle of the pipe all different ways to get more clearance, but nothing worked.

Has anyone had any problems with excessive heat due to the close tolorance of the pipe to firewall or should i just take the fiberglass shield off alltogether?

Thanks for any help.

Any help?????

I went to the dealer and thought i ordered the right part. It turned out the parst guy got me the WHOLE interior blanket for the firewall.

Now its a big fiasco to find the right part #.

Anybody know what the part # is for the "engine compartment heat shield-right behind the exhuast pipe, that mounts on the firewall?"

Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem with my custom 4". I took it back & they put some exhaust wrap on the pipe by the fire wall & I haven't had any problems since.
