Hello all

Im looking to put a 4. 5 " lift on my 98 and a new set of wheels/tires.

the problem im having is that i cant find any pics of trucks with a 4" lift kit on it to see how it looks. If you guys have it done and can supply me with pics i appreciate it.

On the wheels i was going to move up to 17" wheels but the tire selection is very limited so i was going to stay with 16" go 8" wide and put a 315 on it but im concerned that the tires may look to small in the wheel well after the lift kit is on. I also am having a hard time finding 4 3/4 backspacing like the factory wheels. If i go 4 1/2 will it stick out alot past the fender or if i go 5" will it rub on the inside?

Thank You

good place to look is on the sky jacker website (www.skyjacker.com... they have a "rides" area sorted by truck type and year). SJ sells a 4. 5" lift that I've heard is pretty good.

Just finished (last week!) doing a front end level (2. 5" lift) by installing a Rancho 6446 kit (longer trailing arms, spring spacer, and dual shocks). Added 30570R16 BFG Muds on 16x10 Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels. The truck looks entirely different (get lots of compliments) plus rides better (maybe since the muds are D rated and have a MUCH taller sidewall than the 24575R16's before). Dual shocks are definitely a good idea due to the weight of the CTD

1. Havent calculate milage impact (but assume there's some due to slight humm while driving). Note: these mud tires have gotten much better and look TOUGH!

2. Havent calibrated the speedo but who really cares ...

3. Only tow a ski boat but havent hooked it up yet with the new setup (higher gearing might make finally use first gear!)

3. Hard constraint of mine was that it could fit in the garage (otherwise the 4. 5" SJ kit would have been installed). Now it fits but the antenna scrapes on the way in and out...

4. It always bugged me to have such a tough truck with that wimpy look... .

If I would have known how much this affects the appearance and handling of the truck I would have done it from day 1!

Good Luck and hope this helps (hopefully I can post some pix this weekend!)
