Does anyone make a 4 or 5 point retractable seatbelt that could be used on our trucks? I notice the Jeep Rescue has a 4-point adjustable setup. I think this would be cool... and also significantly safer than the factory 3-point unit.

Here is some information that you need to know about 4/5 point restraint systems. They work great providing that you install them correctly AND you have a cage.

If no cage and you roll you have no way to get you head and upper body out of the way when the roof moves. A 3 point system gives you this flexibility which is why it is used in most passenger vehicles.

On an 03 you are going to need something to mount the sholder straps to anyway. If you mount the sholder strap too low they will tend to fold the body on impact.

If you are still thinking about this I would suggest getting a racing rule book. This will explain all the things that you will want to think about when installing a harness. There is a lot more to it than you probably now know. ;)

There sure is a lot more to it than I know! (especially since I know next-to-nothing!). I just wondered if anyone ever heard of a bolt-in retractable 4-point like what is apparently on the Jeep Rescue. :)
